Agent Lead Developer (Rust/C & AI Orchestration)

Remote

NXLog helps companies manage their logs better. We provide a unified platform for log collection, storage, and analysis. We offer versatile solutions to capture high-volume logs from diverse sources, transform log data on the fly, filter, enrich, and route it to other systems to boost business, security, and compliance. We combine the stability and resources of an established company with the innovative spirit and agility of a start-up. Our mission is to continuously push technological boundaries to deliver outstanding user experiences.

We are hiring an NXLog Agent Lead Developer (Rust/C & AI Orchestration)!

In this role, you will act as the technical authority and quality gate for one of the most critical components of the NXLog Platform. You will lead a dedicated, cross-functional team of senior engineers, QA automation specialists, and DevOps engineers, ensuring that everything we build is safe, performant, and production-ready.

You will combine deep systems engineering expertise with a modern, AI-augmented development approach, guiding your team in refactoring legacy C components into idiomatic Rust while establishing clear standards for working with AI-generated code.

Beyond hands-on architecture and development, you will play a key role in technical leadership, planning, and team enablement—driving efficient delivery, reducing defects, and setting a high bar for engineering quality across the Agent team.

Due to project requirements, we are actively hiring engineers located within European time zones (UTC−01:00 to UTC+05:00), to ensure strong collaboration within our distributed, remote-first team.

What you’ll do:

  • Act as the technical authority for the NXLog Agent, a mission-critical component of our platform

  • Lead the modernization of legacy C codebases into idiomatic Rust, ensuring safety and performance

  • Serve as the Quality Gate - perform deep code reviews across human and AI-generated code

  • Define and implement AI-assisted development workflows, including validation and verification standards

  • Drive architectural decisions and represent the Agent team in technical roadmap and architecture discussions

  • Lead a cross-functional squad (C/Rust engineers, QA, DevOps) toward consistent, high-quality delivery

  • Collaborate with DevOps to optimize CI/CD pipelines across Linux, macOS, and Windows.

  • Mentor engineers and shape hiring processes, including AI-assisted technical evaluations

What you'll bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in systems programming (C/C++), including memory management and cross-platform development

  • Strong, production-level experience with Rust, especially in concurrent and high-performance systems

  • Deep understanding of low-level systems concepts: concurrency, networking, IPC

  • Hands-on experience integrating AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, agentic IDEs) into development workflows

  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD systems and cross-platform build environments

  • Experience with Linux, macOS, and Windows; AIX/Solaris or other Unix systems is of added value

  • Exposure to modern data systems and cloud environments (AWS/Azure)

  • Proven track record of owning code quality and release stability in critical systems

  • Experience working in distributed teams with clear communication and technical leadership

What you’ll get:

  • Remote community of passionate experts from around the world

  • A highly technical leadership role with real ownership over a core product

  • Opportunity to shape how AI is used in modern systems engineering workflows

  • A senior, collaborative engineering culture with minimal bureaucracy

  • Competitive compensation and long-term career growth

  • Work on software deployed in security-critical, real-world environments

  • PTO & other benefits

  • Opportunity to work with a state-of-the-art log management product
